Mrs. Mouse's Halloween Recipes

Oreo-arachnia Cookies , Ghost Toast , Witches Brew , Black Cat Cookies

- Oreo-arachnia Cookies -

black whip licorice, cut into 3 inch lengths
one bag Oreo sandwich cookies

Stick the licorice in the frosting of the cookies so it looks like spider legs.
That's all there is to it.
Makes bunches of Oreo-arachnias.

- Ghost Toast -

6 pieces of white bread
3 tablespoons honey
butter knife
6 cup muffin pan
clean kitchen towel

Take each piece of white bread and cut off the crusts.
Spread one side with 1/2 tablespoon honey.
Gently push bread down into a muffin cup, honey side up, so the corner points are all sticking up.
Cover with a clean kitchen towel and allow to air dry for 6 hours.
(Or ask a parent to bake them for you in the oven instead, uncovered, at a very low temperature for 15 - 20 minutes.)
Remove each 'ghost' from the muffin pan, and stand upright on the points.
Makes 6 Ghost Toasts.

- Witches Brew -

1 1/2 cups orange sherbet
1 package gummi worms
ice cube tray
1 quart lemon-lime soda

Spoon sherbet into ice cube trays.
Push gummi worms into the sherbet in each cube, so parts of the worm stick out.
Freeze for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
Pour lemon-lime soda into 6 glasses.
Top with a frozen orange sherbet gummi cube.
Makes 6 servings of Witches Brew.

- Black Cat Cookies -

1 dozen sugar cookies (2-3 inch diameter)
1 1/2 cups prepared chocolate icing
butter knife
1 dozen chocolate-peppermint wafer patties (candy)
12 red gumdrops
24 black gumdrops
36 strands of thin whip style black licorice

Frost each cookie with chocolate frosting.
Cut each chocolate-peppermint wafer patty in half.
Place patties in a 'v' shape on cookie for ears, cut sides facing each other
Place 2 black gumdrops on cookie for eyes.
Place 1 red gumdrop on cookie for nose.
Cross 3 licorice whips under 'nose' for whiskers.
Makes 12 Black Cat Cookies.
